Our first three or so classes

So on our first class I talked alot and then I talked some more. Nice to meet you. Told everyone to order the book, Studio and Cube by Brian O'doherty. We celebrated MLK day all in our own way. Thanks to Flagler for recognizing Dr. King. The next class I brought wire hangers because Louana and me( at the O.U.R. Center Food Bank and Clothes Closet) and everyone we know doesn't know what to do with them. You guys had fun and made some cool stuff. Then we went to Sertoma Second time around where Goldie gave us the run down about Sertoma, Doc and the store. You guys got right to it like pros organizing the books. Everyone scored mad thrift loot. Mandy played the electric organ. I got it on video but from a weird angle. Tonight we were back in class and you guys got to work on your sculptures for the show. We need to start thinking about titles and start reading the book. Touch Not The Cat is my favorite possible title so far.

Paintings
Must be ready to hang when submitted for jurying. This means screws and wire installed on back of the frame so painting hangs flush with wall.

Graphic Design
Muse be mounted and include comp if necessary.

Drawings or Prints
Can be framed or presented with proper hanging devices. Tacks are suitable for hanging as long as they do not appear to hinder the overall presentation of the work.

Sculpture
Include all information necessary regarding the installation of a sculpture. For instance, is the work you are submitting a pedestal piece? Or should it be placed on the floor? Or hung on the wall as a relief?

Installation
If you wish to submit an installation piece, you may submit photos of the installation. Submit as many photos necessary of the piece so the jurors can understand spatial references and concepts. If you have a particular site in the gallery that you wish to use for the piece, state that also.

Video
Submit video work on a disc. Work will be viewed on a Mac for jurying purposes. Accepted video work will be looped on a disc and played during the exhibition.

Photography
Can be mounted, framed or presented with proper hanging devices.
