The Hot Lava Brigade

So,
I sent the listing information to Renee at the compass. There didn't seem to be a boat load of energy directed towards a press release. I think someone should do a PSA for Flagler College radio. If I end up doing all of the press for your guys' exhibit I won't show it in class but I'll be really depressed and disappointed(really). I'm not on my knees begging but I am sitting down. Please, Please, Please don't work against yourselves and not put in the SMALL effort(posters/flyers and sending a few emails) to let people know about the show. So far the work I've seen and talked with a few of you about is well deserving of a good crowd to come out and see it. The press release info is as follows: The Hot Lava Brigade presents the Collaborative Cubby Hole Conference, Wednesday, December 3rd from 5-8pm in room S-8 of the Molly Wiley Art Building on Flagler College Campus. Installations by 12 local Sculptors. Send pictures( to the media) if you have any(take some).
Later and have a safe weekend.

Searching for the Wrong Eyed Jesus and most of the class!

So, those of you who showed up saw what I think is a really important film; Searching for the Wrong-Eyed Jesus. For those of you who were UNABLE to attend if you have a decent excuse I might let you borrow the DVD. If you have a poor excuse then not so much borrowing will occur. Monday you will need 4(four) Cuttle Bones(look it up) to participate in the in-class assignment. If you do not have 4(FOUR not THREE not TWO not ONE but 4(FOUR)) then you will be absent. In case you passed out during that last sentence you'll need 4(FOUR)Cuttle Bones. The sqaure root of 16=4. Hey that's how many Cuttle Bones you'll need for class on Monday for our in-class assignment with Ken Mcmillian. Wednesday I will do a rubber mold making demo and we will pour plaster into some of the ready-made molds that ya'll have been collecting since the first of MANY times I've mentioned it in class. I hope you have great weekend. The AVANT GARBAGE ART EXHIBIT that everyone has work for is Tommorrow(FRIDAY) on the west lawn. If you enter it that will make three(including our upcoming one) shows for your resume just this semester. Speaking of our upcoming show we need to nail down a date and do the whole Press Release/media blitz probably by next week Wednesday so mull it over a bit over the weekend. Have a great one and be safe. Call me or email me if you have any questions.

Cuttle Bones!!!!!!!!!

Hey for class on Monday everyone needs to pick up 4(four) cuttle bones from Petco or Walmart(93 cents each)or some place that sells cuttle bones. I wouldn't wait until the last minute on this. Ken Mcmillian is coming to our class to do a table top metal casting demonstration. It's gonna be cool.

PUMPKIN SOUP ANYONE?

So, remember when I said if you have time before Monday to pull the pumpkin off the concrete? Yeah, pumpkins can get pretty gross. Anyway sorry about missing class on Monday. Joey and Windy have been under the weather and I felt like I was coming down with it as well and thought it might be best to avoid passing it along to ya'll. Monday we will either begin plaster casting or do a table top metal workshop facilitated by Ken Mcmillian. Remember to bring in plastic packaging to use as moulds(i.e. toys,tools,mp3s, bottles). Don't forget tommorrow night the movie begins at 7:00pm.
